Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported 65 deaths on Monday and 9,169 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a accumulated of 526 thousand 837 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radi Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 96,143 patients were admitted, of them 49,616 suspects, 4,488 in epidemiological surveillance and 42,42 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 44,360 samples the day before for a cumulative 7,203 thousand 79 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that of the 9,169 patients, 9,113 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 20 have a source of infection abroad and in 36 people the source of infection is unknown and 9,149 are autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 4,356 are male and 4,813 female. Regarding the age groups, 1,876 were diagnosed under the age of 18, and 1,758 in pediatric ages. In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 2,630 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2,903 cases and 1,760 people older than 60 years.
