Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Monday 52 deaths and 6,632 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative 860 1,799 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday there were 75 thousand 270 patients admitted, of them 38 thousand 337 suspects, 3 thousand 92 in epidemiological surveillance and 33 thousand 841 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 48,370 samples the day before for a cumulative of 9,423,660 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that of the 6,632 patients, 155 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 6,620 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 8 have a source of infection abroad and in 4 people the source of contagion is unknown, 6 thousand 624 were autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 3,142 are male and 3,490 female. Regarding the age groups, 1,331 children under 18 years of age were diagnosed, and 1,269 in pediatric ages (60 under one year). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 1,545 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2 thousand 123 cases and thousand 633 people older than 60 years.
He specified that of the 860 thousand 799 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 33 thousand 841 of them remain confirmed, 33 thousand 455 with stable clinical evolution. 7,279 deaths are reported (52 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.84. The two evacuees remain, 55 returnees and 819 thousand 622 recovered patients accumulate (6 thousand 911 discharges of the day). 121 critically ill patients and 265 critically ill patients are reported.
