Havana: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today welcomed the doctors who supported the United Arab Emirates in the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic and described his mission as meritorious, Prensa Latina publishes.
Through his official account on Twitter, the president highlighted the return to the national territory of the brigade of the international contingent Henry Reeve, which occurred the day before.
The group of 39 women and six men worked together with their local colleagues in four medical centers, including three in the UAE Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, and at SheikKhalifa General Hospital.
Together with the rest of the contingent made up of 110 Cuban collaborators, these graduates in Nursing, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation supported the start-up of field hospitals and intensive therapy rooms dedicated to the care of patients with Covid-19.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, in three months the group carried out 104 thousand 31 nursing procedures, rehabilitated 22 thousand 377 patients and participated in 25 thousand 874 educational activities.
