Havana, Cuba: Cuba resists in the face of aggressions against its sovereignty amid continuous provocations and the pandemic, the hero of the Republic and National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), Gerardo Hernández assured, during a meeting with neighbors from the Habana Vieja municipality.
According to Radio Habana Cuba, in the exchange, Gerardo insisted on the need to strengthen support for the neighborhoods in the midst of the complex economic scenario.
“We know there is a lot to work on, but in this country that has been blocked for more than half a century, we have done a feat: a Revolution of the humble, with the humble and for the humble, right under the noses of the United States,” he said.
The anti-terrorist fighter recalled the advances of the Caribbean nation with the vaccination against Covid-19 that will make possible the upcoming opening on November 15 with high immunization rates.
Hernández questioned the campaigns and calls for a supposed peaceful march on that date and denied that it has popular support.
“When it is finally announced that we will be able to get out of the pandemic, someone has the idea of marching, but not to a nobody,” he rejected, referring to the ties of the organizers with foreign financing.
The call, considered unconstitutional by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Caribbean country, intends to deny the country’s conquests, the provincial coordinator of the CDR, Irina Serra, denounced.
The Government of the Caribbean nation pointed out the subversive nature of the November 15 initiative and its alignment with the interests of the United States.
“Dignity, resistance and unity are our most powerful forces in the face of the dishonorable and rogue annexationist action that serves the historic enemy of the Cuban nation in his plan to divide us to defeat us,” Cuban President Miguel Díaz- Canel wrote on his Twitter account.
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced Washington’s multidimensional strategy against the island, which includes economic pressure and financing of those who support its destabilizing agenda.
