Havana, Cuba: Entrepreneurs from Cuba and Italy today carried out a business forum that was attended by the Prime Minister of the Caribbean nation, Manuel Marrero and the Italian ambassador in this capital, Roberto Vellano, Prensa Latina publishes.

Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Commerce and Foreign Investment of the island, the meeting promoted commercial exchange and investment opportunities offered by the country in different sectors, such as industry, tourism and the employment of renewable energy sources, among others.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Carricarte, when welcoming the participants highlighted that this is the first business delegation after achieving control of the Covid-19 pandemic, at a time when the national economy begins its recovery.

He highlighted the actions carried out by the country to facilitate the business environment, such as the creation of the single window for foreign trade, the legal system on foreign investment activity, and the advancement of projects in the Mariel Special Development Zone.

Likewise, he mentioned the creation of micro, small and medium-sized companies, which seek to increase creativity, productive chains, innovation and increase the demand for products, in addition to generating exports.

Carricarte thanked all those who contribute to promoting the gradual and sustainable growth of the island and, in particular, the members of the Daiquirí Tours Group, to which 30 Italian companies of various branches belong and who have worked tirelessly for this purpose.

Also to the Cuba-Italy Business Committee, established more than a decade ago, and which contributes to encouraging bilateral relations and the participation of businessmen from the European country in trade fairs, among other actions.

Italy is an important partner of the island, ranking ninth in the world in trade, third in the European Union and fourth in trade in services.
