Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Wednesday one deceased and 472 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 1 million 070 thousand 730 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
At midnight yesterday, March 1, a total of 7 thousand 164 patients are admitted, 4 thousand 833 suspects in surveillance 56 and confirmed active 2 thousand 275.
For COVID-19, a total of 10,936 samples were taken for surveillance on the day, with 472 being positive for 4.3% positivity. The country accumulates 13 million 109 thousand 665 samples carried out and 1 million 070 thousand 730 positives (8.2%).
Of the total cases (472): 457 were contacts of confirmed cases, 9 with a source of infection abroad and 6 without a specified source of infection. Of the 472 diagnosed cases, 256 were female and 216 male.
2.8% (13) of the 472 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 145,171, which represents 13.5% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 472 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (111), 20 to 39 years old (118), 40 to 59 years old (123), 60 and over (120).
Of the million 070 thousand 730 patients diagnosed with the disease, 2 thousand 275 remain hospitalized, of them 2 thousand 249 with stable clinical evolution. There are 8,496 deaths (1 on the day), a lethality of 0.79% vs 1.37% in the world and 1.78% in the Americas; two evacuated and 57 returned to their countries. On the day there were 654 discharges, accumulated 1 million 059 thousand 900 recovered patients (99.0%). 26 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, 7 of them critical and 19 serious.
