Mayabeque, Cuba: Workers with 20 and 25 years of work in the Vitral Painting Base Business Unit, located in San José de Las Lajas, were recognized with the José Ramón Martínez Álvarez Distinction.

This group ratified the commitment and the new goals to contribute to the national economy in the context of the Light Industry Worker’s Day.

On this day, they committed to fulfilling production plans with efficiency, raising labor productivity, import substitution, exports and the country’s prioritized programs.

In a year marked by the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba with measures aimed at sabotaging the country’s foreign trade and hindering financial transactions with third nations, these workers make efforts to comply with the plans and guarantee products of quality for the internal and external market.

The Vitral paint factory, the only one of its kind in Mayabeque, holds the status of an entity with a detailed industrial culture Project building the future granted by the Light Industry Business Group.

The General Secretary of the Industries Union in Mayabeque, Isabel Ortiz Martínez, at the provincial event for the Light Industry Worker’s Day, explained that they are committed to new goals to achieve productive chaining and diversify assortments.

For his part, Alberto Tamayo, on behalf of the group, said that they guarantee quality products for the domestic and foreign markets, exceed productions and work efficiently in a year marked by the tightening of the blockade.

Students from the Repentismo Workshop of the Casa de la Décima de Mayabeque animated the commemoration for the Light Industry Worker’s Day held at the Vitral Paints Base Business Unit in San José de Las Lajas.
