Mayabeque, Cuba: Deputies to the National Assembly of People’s Power carry out an inspection of companies and entities of the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Mayabeque, with the participation of directors, officials, and workers of this organization.
The review includes the development program, investments, internal control, use of science and technology based on the productive object, and mechanisms for decentralizing functions in companies.
The deputy to the National Assembly, José Ariel Cantero Barreto, in details of the work carried out in the Western Petroleum Drilling and Extraction Company, located in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Norte, said that among the issues of greatest interest are the compliance with production plans and accounting.
Among other topics, they analyze the results of profits, investments, how science and innovation are involved in industrial processes, and how the decentralization of functions is achieved through the implementation of the 43 measures in each entity.
Until now, the work has also been carried out in the Provincial Electric Company, and the Geominera de Occidente Roberto Coco Peredo, Cantero Barreto added.
As an expression of popular control, they review the implementation of the policy for the prospective development of renewable sources and the efficient use of energy.
The purpose is to promote the main tasks of the sector, with a view to strengthening economic work, highlighting potentialities, experiences and results, and identifying existing problems, to contribute to their solution and advance development.
The deputies supervise the implementation of the Economic-Social Strategy based on the confrontation with the crisis generated by COVID-19, the State Budget, the efficiency levels, the saving measures in the workplace and the exploration of new deposits in the territory.
The deputy stressed that the activity carried out by the People’s Power in its broadest sense generates the participation of the people, and that is why they have exchanged with workers and in the neighborhoods, to later transfer all the criteria to the National Assembly.
He is accompanied by the constituency delegate in the municipality of Güines, Pedro Hernández. Referring to the importance of high control of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, he explained that his participation in this process is a democratic expression of the right to popular control of the economy and business sectors.
