Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Thursday 877 new positive cases of Covid-19, out of a total of 13,800 samples carried out for surveillance on the day, 824 medical discharges were given and there was no need to mourn no deceased patient, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

At midnight yesterday, March 23, a total of 9,446 patients are admitted, 5,934 suspects, 26 under surveillance, and 3,486 confirmed active.

Of the total cases (877): 830 were contacts of confirmed cases; 14 with a source of infection abroad; 33 with no specified source of infection. Of the 877 diagnosed cases, 510 were female and 367 male.

4.1% (36) of the 877 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 145,788, which represents 13.4% of those confirmed to date.

The 877 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (270), 20 to 39 years old (217), 40 to 59 years old (227), 60 and over (163).

Of the million 084 thousand 568 patients diagnosed with the disease, 3 thousand 486 remain hospitalized, of them 3 thousand 468 with stable clinical evolution. 18 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, of which 5 are critical and 13 are seriously ill.

There were 824 discharges on the day, 1 million 072 thousand 515 recovered patients accumulate (98.9%), two evacuated, 57 returned to their countries.

No deaths were reported during the last day, but 8,508 deaths have accumulated in the period of the pandemic, a lethality of 0.78% vs 1.29% in the world and 1.79% in the Americas.
