Havana, Cuba: At the end of this Sunday, Cuba reported 834 new cases of Covid-19, one deceased and 687 discharges, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported this Monday in its daily report.

At the end of the day on Sunday, 8,981 patients were admitted: 4,946 suspects, 17 under surveillance and 4,018 confirmed (active cases).

Of the 4,018 active cases, 3,994 have a stable clinical course. In intensive care, 24 patients are treated: six critical and 18 serious.

This Sunday, 11,467 samples were processed, of which 834 were positive, for a positivity of 7.3%. The country accumulates 13 408 359 samples processed, with 1,088,017 positive (8.1%).

Of the total cases, 791 were contacts of confirmed cases, 27 have a source of infection abroad. In 16 the source of infection has not been specified and 447 correspond to the female sex, and 387 to the male.

While 60 (7.2%) were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis. 145,981 are accumulated, 13.4% of those confirmed to date. By age groups: under 20 years old (256), from 20 to 39 years old (203), from 40 to 59 years old (196), from 60 and over (179).

One deceased patient was reported on the day. “We deeply regret what happened and we convey our condolences to your family and friends,” says the MINSAP note.

The deceased lived in Artemisa, she was in the age group of 70 to 79 years and she had arterial hypertension and liver neoplasia as comorbidities.

Cuba accumulates 8,510 deaths, for a lethality of 0.78% (1.28% in the world and 1.79% in the Americas); two evacuated and 57 returned to their countries.

This Sunday, 687 discharges were registered, bringing the number of recovered patients to 1 075 430 (98.8%).
