Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Wednesday 439 new positive cases of Covid-19, out of a total of 8,950 samples carried out for surveillance on the day, 622 medical discharges were given, there were no deceased, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

At the close of yesterday, April 12, a total of 6,084 patients are admitted, 3,847 suspects, 53 under surveillance, and 2,184 confirmed active.

Of the total cases (439): 428 were contacts of confirmed cases; 10 with a foreign source of infection; 1 with no specified source of infection.

Of the 439 diagnosed cases, 251 were female and 188 male.

8.2% (36) of the 439 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,484, which represents 13.3% of those confirmed to date.

The 439 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (141), 20 to 39 years old (97), 40 to 59 years old (86), 60 and over (115).

Of the 1,098,114 patients diagnosed with the disease, 2,184 remain hospitalized, of which 2,161 have a stable clinical course. 23 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, of which 6 are critical and 17 are seriously ill.

No deceased patients were reported on the day. There are 8,519 deaths (0 on the day), a lethality of 0.78% vs 1.24% in the world and 1.78% in the Americas.

On the day there were 622 discharges, 1 million 087 thousand 352 (99.0%) are accumulated, two evacuees, 57 returned to their countries.
