Havana, Cuba: President Miguel Díaz-Canel recognized today the good moment that relations between Cuba and Algeria are going through, due to the presence on the island of a large government and business delegation, Prensa Latina publishes.

In his Twitter account, the president described as “very pleased to receive Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform of Algeria, who is in Cuba at the head of a large delegation,” and assured that “we continue to specify everything agreed on our recent visit to that sister nation.?

In the same direction, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also reported on Twitter Díaz-Canel’s “fraternal welcome” to the representatives of the North African country and added that “they confirmed potential to deepen ties in areas of common interest.”

The day before, Díaz-Canel received the Algerian minister and pointed out that his presence in Cuba in the initial months of the year demonstrates all the mutual will to advance relations

The Cuban head of State highlighted the development in these days of the intergovernmental commission between both countries and a Business Forum, which ends today in this capital.

In the meeting, the president recalled the high-level contacts he had during his visit to Algeria last December, pondered the understanding of the main Algerian leaders about the current situation in Cuba; and highlighted the scope and breadth of those talks.

The Algerian minister pointed out that he received instructions from his government to intensify activities during his stay in Havana, mainly in the business forum, which is why he already had meetings with trade, energy and foreign investment authorities.

He announced that these contacts include the heads of Finance and Prices, Health and the Central Bank of Cuba with the willingness to implement all the agreements reached during the visit to Algeria of the Cuban president.
