Biden arrives in Ukraine on unannounced visit.

Kyiv: US President Joe Biden arrived in Ukraine on Monday for a previously unannounced visit.

Shortly after the first reports about Biden’s arrival appeared, Zelenski confirmed the information about the visit. “Joseph Biden, welcome to Kyiv! His visit is an extremely important sign of support for all Ukrainians,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

“I am in Kiev today to meet with President Zelensky and reaffirm the unwavering and tireless commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Biden said in a statement released by the White House.

The US president promised to announce “another supply of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems and air surveillance radars” to Kyiv, as well as new anti-Russian sanctions.

In mid-February, the White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, indicated that Biden would visit Poland from February 20 to 22.
