Havana: At midnight yesterday, August 3, 463 patients are admitted to hospitals for epidemiological clinical surveillance. Another 6 thousand 467 are watched in the Primary Health Care, the doctor Francisco Durán García, national director of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health informed in his daily report, Cubadebate publishes.

For COVID-19, 3,389 samples were studied, resulting in 31 positive samples.

The country accumulates 277 thousand 863 samples and 2 thousand 701 positive (0.97%).

The 31 diagnosed cases are Cuban, 17 were contact of confirmed cases, four of them do not define the source of infection and 10 have a source of infection abroad.

Of the 31 confirmed cases, 19 are men and 12 are women. 67.7% (21) were asymptomatic.

Residence by provinces of confirmed cases:

• Pinar del Río: 2 (from the Pinar del Río municipality)

• Artemisa: 7 (5 from Bauta, Artemisa and Mariel with 1 each)

• Havana: 17 (7 from the municipality of La Lisa, Cerro, Playa and Marianao with 2 cases each, Boyeros, Plaza de La Revolución, Diez de Octubre and Habana del Este with 1 case each)

• Sancti Spíritus: 1 (from the municipality of Sancti Spíritus)

• Ciego de Ávila: 1 (from the Morón municipality)

• Holguín: 2 (from the Holguín municipality)

• Granma: 1 (from the Jaguaní municipality)

Of the 2,701 patients diagnosed with the disease, 229 (8.4%) remain admitted, 228 99.5% with stable clinical evolution. 88 deaths are reported (one of the day), two evacuated, and nine discharges of the day (2,382 recovered patients accumulate). A patient in serious condition is reported.

As of August 3, 185 countries with cases of COVID-19 are reported, confirming 18 million 056 thousand 310 cases (+214 thousand 641) and 689 thousand 219 deaths (+3 thousand 938) for a lethality of 3.81 (-0.03).

The Americas region reports 9 million 762 thousand 672 confirmed cases (+111 thousand 200), 54.06 of the total cases reported in the world, with 365 thousand 688 deaths (+ 2 thousand 089) for a lethality of 3, 74 (-0.01).
