Havana: At midnight yesterday, September 16, 1,874 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 95 under surveillance, 1,187 suspected and 592 confirmed, the website of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health publishes.
For COVID-19, 7,745 samples were studied, resulting in 57 positive samples. The country accumulates 515 thousand 969 samples made and 4 thousand 933 positive (0.96%).
Of the 57 diagnosed cases, 56 are Cuban and one foreigner. Of the total of cases, 53 were contacts of confirmed cases and four without a specified source of infection. 29 are male and 28 are female. 64.9% (37) were asymptomatic.
Distribution by municipalities of the 57 confirmed cases:
Havana (21 cases): Centro Habana (5), Arroyo Naranjo (3), Guanabacoa (3), Marianao (2), Habana Vieja (2), Playa (2), Boyeros (1), Diez de Octubre (1) ), San Miguel del Padrón (1), Regla (1).
Sancti Spíritus (1 case): Yaguajay (1).
Ciego de Ávila (35 cases): Ciego de Ávila (17), Venezuela (9), Majagua (5), Baraguá (1), Bolivia (1), Florencia (1), Morón (1).
Of the 4,933 patients diagnosed with the disease, 592 (12%) remain confirmed, 572, 96.5% with stable clinical evolution. 109 deaths are reported (none of the day), two evacuees, 99 discharges of the day, 4,230 recovered patients accumulate (86%). Seven critically ill and 13 seriously ill patients are reported.
Until September 16, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 29 million 611 thousand 395 (+ 301 thousand 849) and 935 thousand 767 deaths (+ 6 thousand 877) for a fatality of 3.16 %.
The region of the Americas reported 15 million 141 thousand 313 confirmed cases (+ 123 thousand 164), 51.13% of the total cases reported in the world, with 519 thousand 539 deaths (+ 3 thousand 955) for a fatality of 3.43%.
