Havana: At midnight yesterday, September 24, 8,404 patients were admitted to health institutions for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 6,483 under surveillance, 1,349 suspects and 572 confirmed, the official site of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba publishes.
For COVID-19 7,779 samples were studied, resulting in 40 positive samples. The country accumulates 577,150 samples carried out and 5,350 positive (0.93%).
The 40 diagnosed cases are Cuban, 39 were contacts of confirmed cases and one without a specified source of infection, 23 were male and 17 were female. 92.5% (37) were asymptomatic, accumulating 3,219, representing 60.2% of those confirmed to date.
The residence by province and municipality of the 40 confirmed cases:
• Havana (23 cases): Centro Habana (6), Diez de Octubre (3), Habana Vieja (3), Boyeros (3), Arroyo Naranjo (3), Cotorro (2), Habana del Este (1), Guanabacoa (1), Regla (1).
• Ciego de Ávila (17 cases): Ciego de Ávila (17)
Of the 5 thousand 350 patients diagnosed with the disease, 572 (10.7%) remain confirmed, 565, 98.8% with stable clinical evolution. 118 deaths are reported (none of the day), two evacuated, 45 discharges of the day, 4 thousand 658 recovered patients accumulate (87.1%). Two patients in critical condition and five in serious condition are reported.
Until September 24, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 31 million 969 thousand 479 (+310 thousand 906) and 978 thousand 284 deaths (+6 thousand 415) for a lethality of 3.06 %.
The region of the Americas reports 16 million 032 thousand 713 confirmed cases (+113 thousand 174), 50.15% of the total cases reported in the world, with 541 thousand 624 deaths (+3 thousand 695) for a fatality of 3, 37%.
