Mayabeque, Cuba: Mayabeque reports a favorable situation compared to 2019, in relation to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infections and other sexually transmitted diseases.
According to the head of the Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention of the Provincial Directorate of Public Health, Yurima Peña Sánchez, the HIV epidemic has behaved in a decreasing way and 20 fewer cases have been diagnosed. The male sex is the most recurrent in the disease.
For December 1st , International Day to fight AIDS, and under the motto World Solidarity, Shared Responsibility, the province of Mayabeque will carry out a group of activities in the 11 municipalities.
The actions include educational talks and video projection with vulnerable groups, whether they are young people, adolescents, men who have sex with other men, women and people over 50 years of age.
The provincial act will be in the municipality of Bejucal, this December 1, at the House of Culture Félix Pita Rodríguez, at 9:00 at night.
