Havana, Cuba: Cuba opposes terrorism: it has been a victim of this scourge and never a sponsor, President Miguel Díaz-Canel emphasized today.
According to the president, the inclusion of the Island by the United States in the list of countries sponsors of terrorism are the last blows of a failed and corrupt administration committed to the Miami Cuban mafia.
“The discredited Trump administration does everything possible to hinder and prevent an improvement in relations during Biden’s presidency”, he denounced through his Twitter account.
Díaz-Canel added that the US blockade against Cuba is an example of State terrorism.
The head of state also wrote that the world condemns the hypocritical and cynical qualification in reference to the examples of international denunciation after the inclusion of the Caribbean nation in that list.
The day before, the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, announced through a statement the decision of the department he isin charge of designating the island on the list of nations that sponsor terror.
The largest of the Antilles had been excluded from that group in 2015, during the process of rapprochement with the United States in the second term of Barack Obama’s term (2009-2017).
According to the statement, Cuba is included for allegedly providing support repeatedly to acts of international terrorism by granting safe haven to terrorists; accusations that the Island has repeatedly denied.
