Brazil: Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva thanked the Cuban people for their strong support in asking for his freedom during the 580 days he served in political prison in 2019, Radio Reloj publishes.
In the middle of the first press conference after a Supreme Court judge annulled his sentences, Lula asked to stop a journalist’s question because he could not stop thanking Cuba for the support and for the millions of signatures demanding his freedom.
Cuba placed in the hands of the founder of the Workers’ Party the rubrics of 2 million 61 thousand 565 Cuban firms that demanded his freedom, as part of the Free Lula Campaign when he was imprisoned in Curitiba.
Lula thanked President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the Cuban people and stressed that the signatures were collected in just 14 days, in support of the campaign to annul the false trial.
