Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Monday zero deaths and one thousand 66 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 80 thousand 610 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 26 thousand 198 patients were admitted, of them 3 thousand 787 suspects, 17 thousand 420 in epidemiological surveillance and 4 thousand 991 confirmed.
Durán explained that the country carried out 21,200 samples the day before for a cumulative of 3 million 089 thousand 589 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the thousand 66 patients, 556 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 1,131 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 19 have a source of infection abroad and in 16 people the source of contagion is unknown.
Of the total confirmed, 492 are male and 574 female. Regarding the age groups, 173 patients were diagnosed under 19 years of age and in pediatric ages 162, 781 remain active hospitalized. In the ages of 19 to 39 years, 366 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 358 cases and 169 people over 60 years of age.
