Mayabeque, Cuba: Health authorities of the municipality of Güines, maintain strict epidemiological surveillance before the spread of the Covid 19 virus.
After the last closure, 47 active cases diagnosed with the disease were confirmed during this month, today 37 focus controls are maintained, 230 patients are admitted at isolation centers and 243 are under surveillance.
The northern area of the city is more complex due to the risks of the spread of the pandemic, the population density and the contagion figures.
The director of the Luis Li Triegent polyclinic, Doctor Javier Corso del Toro, talks about the quarantined area and the performance of PCR tests, among other protocols to take into account, “the northern area is one of the most complex in the municipality so far and within this demarcation, the one with the greatest problems is the area known as El Reparto, due to the dispersion of the cases in the place”.
In his statements, Corso del Toro added: “as a strategy it was decided to carry out the quarantine from the streets 100 to 120, including the intersections of 73 avenue, with the aim of continuing to increase the investigation and maintain the studies by applying PCR tests and thus diagnose as many cases as possible that may be circulating in the community asymptomatically”.
The vice president of the Defense Council, José Ariel Cantero Barreto, specified the restricted areas and the need to comply with the provisions provided by the authorities.
The population, he said, “knows that they have to stay in their homes and report anyone who has symptoms of Covid, because the most important thing is to cut off the transmission.”
