Mayabeque, Cuba: The workers of the Department of Surveillance and Anti-Vectorial Fight of Mayabeque, despite being in times of Covid-19, continue actions to prevent the proliferation of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, a fearsome vector that transmits dengue and numerous diseases.
The sanitary inspections of the vector officials to the houses and the placement of the larva traps in the places selected by these officials, in addition to the inspection of work centers are some of the hygienic-sanitary measures.
Also the Public Health authorities of the province summon the population to join this fight against Aedes Aegypti from homes with recommendations such as: cover the water tanks, use mosquito nets on the windows and properly dispose of garbage, in addition to maintaining grass cut and clean backyards and patios.
In the same way, it is important to change daily the water in vases, spiritual glasses and pet drinking containers, cover the tanks and cans to collect water, empty the collectors of air conditioning drains and refrigerators.
Preventing the proliferation of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito is very important due to the transmission of diseases of the dangerous insect, among which are dengue, Zika, Chikungunya and Yellow Fever.
