Mayabeque, Cuba: The Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, made a working visit to the province of Mayabeque to analyze the agricultural programs and the preparation of the sugar harvest.
The tour began with the mini-industry belonging to Empresa Agropecuaria 19 de abril, Quivicán, with a production capacity of one ton per hour, after completing the start-up phase of this plant.
As part of the journey, the also member of the Political Bureau exchanged with workers of the sugar sector, among the topics of the meeting, it was analyzed the possible start of the Manuel Fajardo sugar mill, from that municipality, in the next contest was.
This unit is at 50 percent of repairs.
Valdés Mesa emphasized the operational problems of the mills, the need to achieve the completion of the sugarcane areas, the stability of human resources, as well as diversify the production bases.
As a culmination, he visited the El Roble mini-industry, belonging to the Camilo Torres Cooperative of Credits and Services (CCS), from Bejucal, where he spoke with the producer Lázaro Valdés to learn about the operation of the processing plant, the acquisition of raw materials and the worker care system.
The Vice President of the Republic also recognized the creativity and perseverance of the producer Lázaro Valdés, which are translated into good examples such as the El Roble mini-industry.
