Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Monday 42 deaths and 6,423 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 244,914 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba, publishes
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday, 61 thousand 008 patients were admitted, of them 17 thousand 639 suspects, 8 thousand 451 in epidemiological surveillance and 34 thousand 918 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country carried out 41,705 samples for a cumulative of 5 million 590 thousand 215 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 6,423 patients, 621 cases were asymptomatic, 6,340 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 28 have a source of infection abroad and in 55 people the source of infection is unknown and 6,395 autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 3,143 are male and 3,340 female. Regarding age groups, 1,235 children under 19 years of age were diagnosed. In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 1,878 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2 thousand 128 cases and 1,182 people older than 60 years.
Distribution by provinces of the confirmed cases:
Pinar del Río: 114 casos, Artemisa: 137 casos, La Habana: 670 casos, Mayabeque: 270 casos, Matanzas: 2378 casos, Cienfuegos: 421 casos, Villa Clara: 304 casos. Sancti Spíritus: 210 casos, Ciego de Ávila: 458 casos, Camagüey: 392 casos, Las Tunas: 169 casos, Granma: 123 casos, Holguín: 182, Santiago de Cuba: 457 casos, Guantánamo: 138 casos.
He specified that, of the 244 thousand 914 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 34 thousand 918 confirmed hospitalizations remain, of them 34 thousand 697 with stable clinical evolution. 1,579 deaths are reported (42 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.64. The two evacuees remain, 54 returnees and 208,361 recovered patients accumulate (3,551 discharges of the day). 96 patients in critical condition and 125 patients in serious condition are reported.
Until July 11, 190 countries and 30 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 187 million 527 thousand 218 (+ 429 thousand 51) with 12 million 40 thousand 110 active cases and 4 million 46 thousand 857 deaths (+ 7,906) for a fatality of 2.16.
