Mayabeque, Cuba: During the current spring season, 1,200 hectares were already planted in Madruga, with the support of 150 workers who have been able to take advantage of the good soil conditions.
In this productive activity, 9 Agricultural Production Cooperatives (CPA) and two Credit and Services Cooperatives (CCS) intervene, entities that managed to compensate the arrears arising from the drought stage, thanks to the humidity that the soil shows, according to statements by directors of the Madruga Producers Service Unit.
To achieve quality crops, several factors were taken into account: the good preparation of the areas to be cultivated and the use of certified seeds.
Other support tasks are carried out in the municipality, such as weeding the fields, preparing the vehicle fleet and identifying the sugarcane areas with germination.
