Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported 93 deaths this Tuesday and 8,936 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 475,105 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 99 thousand 189 patients were admitted in hospitals, of them 48 thousand 623 suspects, 4 thousand 512 in epidemiological surveillance and 46 thousand 054 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 37,373 samples the day before for a cumulative of 6 million 936 thousand 796 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 8,936 patients, 517 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 8,881 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 28 have a source of infection abroad and in 27 people the source of contagion is unknown and 8,908 autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 4,144 are male and 4,792 female. Regarding age groups, 1,750 children under 19 years of age were diagnosed, and 1,642 in pediatric ages (115 under one year). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 2,565 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2,817 cases and 1,804 people older than 60 years.
