Mayabeque, Cuba: The volleyball player from San José de las Lajas, Alejandro Rodríguez Fuentes, is a member of the Cuba team of the discipline that participates in the North Central America and the Caribbean Tournament (NORCECA), based in Durango, Mexico, from today 16 to 24 August.
The left-hander residing in the capital of Mayabeque, is 19 years old, his height is 2 meters 6 centimeters, he works as an opposite and auxiliary attacker.
Rodríguez Fuentes began practicing volleyball when he was only 10 years old, in primary school. Later he joined the EIDE Mártires de Barbados, until his incorporation into the Mayabeque sports school after its inauguration.
In the years 2017-2018, he was invited to the youth national team. He participated in the Cerro Pelado Games in 2019, as a guest of the senior team. This is his first experience in an international event, but due to the excellent conditions he will surely not be the only one.
