Mayabeque, Cuba: The integration of several entities of Mayabeque and the country guarantee the supply of medicinal oxygen to the health institutions of the 11 municipalities of the province, after the high demand, due to the increase in positive cases in vulnerable groups of the population.
The work team is made up of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), the Provincial Directorate of Transport, the Directorate of Economy and Planning, the Directorate of Industries of the Provincial Government and Public Health.
These members work tirelessly to ensure the oxygen plan of each of the medical facilities, using the means of the territory itself to transfer it from Guanajay or Havana.
Young people from the FAR assume the mission of loading and unloading the oxygen cylinders, centralized in San José de las Lajas and Güines, where forces from the municipalities come to collect the assigned amount.
Another of the alternatives under development in the territory to achieve greater efficiency in the provision of health services to the population is the production of compressed air, a medicinal gas obtained in the capital of Mayabeque and Santa Cruz del Norte.
At this time they are certified by the Industrial Gas Company, the diving area of the Hotel Memories Jibacoa and the Fire Units of San José de las Lajas and Santa Cruz del Norte.
The floor of compressed air cylinders in the province is 86, spending on average about 15 cylinders per day, which allows keeping all health institutions in the province supplied.
At present, other alternatives are being sought in order to promote these productions in entities of the sugar sector in the southern part of the province, to continue gaining autonomy and saving resources.
