Mayabeque, Cuba: The Mayabeque delegation that attended the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was officially received at the headquarters of the Provincial Government, with the presence of Yanina de la Nuez Aclich, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its First Secretary in the territory.
The event had as a special guest Lianna de la Caridad Montero Herrera, the only athlete who had qualified for the event under the 5 rings, but was unable to attend due to health problems.
The moment was propitious to share anecdotes, experiences and reaffirm the commitment with the Cuban sports movement.
The youngest province of Cuba was represented in the land of the rising sun by coaches Leonel Álvarez and Yoani Giniebra, cycling and weightlifting respectively.
