Peasant women support agricultural work.

Mayabeque, Cuba: In a small plot of Güines, Yamila Martínez Romero gets on the path to the future. With her feet on the ground, wisdom and resistance, she fulfills her dreams and she knows that she can contribute to the family support.

This woman explains that she has a small plot where she has fruit trees for family consumption, also she raises animals such as rams, goats, chickens, among others.

Martínez Romero contributes to food sovereignty. From the premises of the Credit and Services Cooperative (CSS) Porfirio Álvarez she seeks to transform the environment.

The use of agro-ecology allows higher productive yields and obtaining healthy crops so as not to harm human health or the environment.

This farm is free of contaminants and healthy food is obtained, it also generates the fruits of consumption, this is how the peasant woman tells us.

She is one of the women who from rural areas promote agricultural work as a way of contributing to the family economy and to that of her country.
