Havana, Cuba: A donation with health supplies sent by the Australia-Cuba Business Council and other organizations in that country was delivered this Wednesday in Havana to support the fight against COVID-19, Radio Havana Cuba publishes.
The cargo includes syringes, disposable material, nutritional supplements and others and will be used to combat the pandemic at the William Soler Pediatric Cardiocenter in the Cuban capital, as well as in the provinces of Holguín, Santiago de Cuba and Matanzas.
During the reception, at the Medical Supplies Company, the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade of our country Déborah Rivas, expressed the gratitude of the Government and the Cuban people for this solidarity action.
We deeply appreciate this gesture in the context of the epidemiological situation in the country and in the midst of a fierce campaign of disinformation and hatred against Cuba, together with the intensification of the economic blockade imposed by the United States, she said.
For his part, Leima Martínez, representative of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, welcomed the enthusiasm with which the Societies of friendship with Cuba, the Aid Fund for Cuban Children’s Hospitals, businessmen and numerous friends joined the initiative.
This gesture shows once again that Cuba is not alone, she assured while she announced the arrival in the next few days of other medical supplies sent by those Australian solidarity organizations.
