Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Thursday nine deaths and 900 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated number of 949 thousand 747 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 13 thousand 905 patients were admitted, of them 7 thousand 589 suspects, one thousand 677 in epidemiological surveillance and 4 thousand 639 confirmed assets.

Durán explained that the country analyzed 23 thousand 473 samples the day before for a cumulative of 10 million 449 thousand 263 samples analyzed.

The epidemiologist announced that of the 900 patients, 98 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 893 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 4 have a source of infection abroad and in three people the source of infection is unknown.

Of the total confirmed, 435 are male and 465 female. Regarding the age groups, 155 were diagnosed under 18 years of age, and 142 in pediatric ages (12 under one year of age). In the ages 20 to 39 years, 173 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 306 cases and 266 people older than 60 years.

He specified that, of the 949 thousand 747 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 4 thousand 639 of them remain confirmed, 4 thousand 5126 with stable clinical evolution. 8,219 deaths are reported (nine in the last day), for a fatality of 0.86. The two evacuees remain, 55 returnees and 936,832 recovered patients accumulate (1,100 discharges of the day). 48 critically ill patients and 75 critically ill patients are reported.
