Havana, Cuba: Cuba reported 549 new cases of Covid-19 and six deaths at the close of Monday, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

10,834 patients were admitted, 5,885 suspects, 1,571 under surveillance, and 3,378 confirmed active.

For Covid-19, a total of 17,047 samples were taken for surveillance during the day, accumulating 10,558,968 samples taken and 953,183 positive.

Of the total confirmed cases, 548 were contacts of confirmed cases, none with a source of infection abroad, one without a specified source of infection. 280 are female and 269 male. 16.1% (88) of the 549 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 131 193 that represents 13.8% of those confirmed to date.

By age groups: under 20 years old, 83 patients, from 20 to 39 years old, 121 confirmed cases, from 40 to 59 years old, 166 cases and more than 60, 179 positive.

Distribution by province of confirmed cases:

Pinar del Río: 40, Artemisa: 15, Havana: 51, Mayabeque: 5, Matanzas: 6, Villa Clara: 29, Sancti Spíritus: 126, Ciego de Ávila: 10, Camagüey: 87, Las Tunas: 30, Granma: 26, Holguín: 79, Santiago de Cuba: 12 and Guantánamo: 25.

Of the 953 183 patients diagnosed with the disease, 3 378 remain hospitalized, of which 3 282 with stable clinical evolution.

There are 8,246 deaths (6 in the day), fatality of 0.86% vs 2.03% in the world and 2.45% in the Americas; two evacuees, 55 returned to their countries, on the day there were 839 discharges, 941 502 recovered patients accumulated (98.8%). 96 confirmed patients, 37 critically ill and 59 seriously ill, are cared for in intensive care.

On the day 6 deceased patients were reported. We deeply regret what happened and convey our condolences to his family and friends.
