Caracas: The enlistment of the voting machines for the November 21 elections in Venezuela is today at 79.4 percent compliance, reported the National Electoral Council (CNE), Prensa Latina publishes.

To date, 19 of the 23 states of the country have the technological equipment that will be enabled during the regional and municipal elections, the highest electoral body specified in a press release.

A contingent of 750 CNE workers works on the operation diagnosis of each of the voting machines, an action aimed at configuring and calibrating the equipment that will allow the automated vote to be cast.

The verification of the technological instruments for the exercise of the vote and the execution of operational tests of both the machine and the Integrated Authentication System passed the day before without any incident, the electoral body said.

Validated by representatives of organizations with political purposes, the verification processes for voting equipment and authentication systems are essential procedures to guarantee the transparency and security of the elections.

Venezuela will go to the polls on November 21 to elect the country’s 23 governors and 335 mayors, as well as members of the regional legislative councils and municipal councils.
