Spain: The twenty-fourth edition of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization began today in Madrid with the presence of some 500 delegates from more than a hundred countries, Prensa Latina reports.

Participants in the highest meeting of the authorities of the industry without chimneys in the world, including journalists, analyze the threat of Covid-19 to the sector and the reactivation of tourism.

The UNWTO in a report on the current panorama of tourism and the new coronavirus pandemic refers to travel restrictions in 46 destinations.

The note adds that only four tourist poles eliminated all restrictions related to Covid-19 (Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico).

Europe is the region of the world most open to international tourists, followed by Africa, America and the Middle East.
