Cuba: The III Plenary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCCC), after the 8th. Congress of the organization, began its sessions on the morning of this Thursday, chaired by its First Secretary, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, also President of the Republic, the newspaper Granma publishes.
Of the 114 members of the CC, 113 are present. It is also headed by the members of the Political Bureau. Also attending are the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Vice Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, and colleagues from the auxiliary structure of the CC.
The Plenary’s agenda was presented by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary for Organization and Politics of Cadres, Roberto Morales Ojeda, who highlighted how the Cuban people reach the 63rd anniversary of the Cuban Revolution and the New Year, with the banner of unity. “The Cuban, he stressed, is a heroic people, an example of resistance and solidarity in the world.”
This morning, topics such as the projects to modify the organization’s regulations in all its structures and those related to income, sanctions and deactivation will be debated. The members of the Central Committee will also discuss a proposal for actions to revitalize and update the functioning of the CDRs and the FMC.
In the prologue to the III Plenary, the members of the Central Committee viewed and debated a documentary on the East-West Transfer, which was a subject of the previous plenary session, when it generated an agreement to guarantee that the monumental work has immediate effects and economic benefits in the eastern region.
Morales Ojeda highlighted the magnitude and benefits of this work, “which can,” he said, “continue to contribute to the increase in food production and to the economic and social development of the eastern region and part of the central region.
“It is an investment,” added the Secretary for Organization and Policies of the CC, “that makes us all proud, and confirms the need to use its benefits to a greater extent.
