Mayabeque, Cuba: Problems detected in key areas of the industry such as boilers and turbo generators in recent checks prevented the start-up of the Boris Luis Santa Coloma de Madruga mill and thus delayed the start of the 2021-2022 sugar harvest.
The workers work quickly to solve these problems and determine the readiness of the machinery. According to the progress in the next few hours, the plant could start operations.
The Boris Luis Santa Coloma de Madruga Agro-industrial Sugar Company will face a difficult harvest due to the decrease in sugarcane volumes and the material difficulties to repair the industry and agricultural transportation as a result of the difficulties of the national economy.
Despite this, the groups linked to the work of the war are committed to making the most of the raw material and manufacturing as much sugar as possible, taking into account the country’s requirements.
The imprint of young people distinguishes the sugar harvest in the territory since they represent more than 40 percent of the active workforce and they assume with responsibility the duty to contribute from one of the decisive lines for local development.
