Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Thursday five deaths and 1,546 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a total of 1,049,406 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
At misnight yesterday, February 2, a total of 20 thousand 517 patients are admitted, 10 thousand 629 suspects, 195 under surveillance and 9 thousand 693 confirmed active.
For COVID-19, a total of 18,117 samples were taken for surveillance on the day, with 1,546 being positive for 8.5% positivity. The country accumulates 12 million 733 thousand 864 samples carried out and 1 million 049 thousand 406 positives (8.2%).
Of the total cases (1,546): 1,511 were contacts of confirmed cases, 25 with a source of infection abroad and 10 without a specified source of infection. Of the 1,546 diagnosed cases, 860 were female and 686 male.
8% (124) of the 1,546 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 143,410, which represents 13.7% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 1,546 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (310), 20 to 39 years old (432), 40 to 59 years old (489), 60 and over (315).
