Havana, Cuba: At midnight yesterday, February 17, a total of 10,161 patients were hospitalized, 6,767 suspected, 85 under surveillance, and 3,309 confirmed active.
For COVID-19, a total of 15,239 samples were taken for surveillance on the day, with 647 being positive for 4.2% positivity. The country accumulates 12 million 963 thousand 301 samples carried out and 1 million 064 thousand 128 positives (8.2%).
Of the total cases (647): 620 were contacts of confirmed cases, 19 with a source of infection abroad and 8 without a specified source of infection. Of the 647 diagnosed cases, 373 were female and 274 male.
9.3% (60) of the 647 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 144,711, which represents 13.6% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 647 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (133), 20 to 39 years old (194), 40 to 59 years old (191), 60 and over (129).

There are 8,484 deaths (2 on the day), a lethality of 0.80% vs 1.40% in the world and 1.79% in the Americas; two evacuated and 57 returned to their countries. On the day there were 857 discharges, accumulated 1 million 052 thousand 276 recovered patients (98.9%). 34 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, of which 14 are critical and 20 are seriously ill.
