Work is speeded up at the UBPC in Güines to stabilize the sugar harvest in Mayabeque.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Speeding up mechanized cutting in sugarcane areas in Güines is a priority to guarantee the stability of the Mayabeque harvest.

For this reason, the platoon of the Carlos La Rosa Basic Cooperative Production Unit (UBPC), in the south of this territory, directs efforts in the field to avoid interruptions due to lack of cane during the manufacturing process to obtain sugar.

This entity has the support of a harvesting machine, in addition to several trucks for pulling the grass to increase the daily potential norm.

The President of the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC), Lázaro Padrón Piloto, explained that the platoon, made up of 11 workers, works to recover the sugar harvest, with three machines in charge of cutting all the cane of the UBPC and other productive forms.

“We are making a great effort to comply with the 80 tons per machine,” he asserted.
