Mayabeque, Cuba: New laws that benefit mothers are put into practice in the social security department of the Municipal Directorate of the Ministry of Labor in Güines.
At the moment, the medical certificates of mothers with sick children are being processed through a new resolution, something that previously did not appear legislated, the manager of social security in this entity, Berta Rivero Falcón, explained.
“The new Decree-Law indicates that in the cases of mothers with sick children, the certificate is processed with their workplace, because previously the mother was not protected when the child was sick and now if it is brought here in social security,” he said.
Also included in the new legislation are the certificates of pregnant women, previously when the pregnant woman was sick before reaching the first prenatal leave, she was protected at 60 percent and now the certificate of that mother is paid 100 percent.
The social security department of the Ministry of Labor in Güines also provides services to retirees. In this regard, Rivero Falcón referred to the pension process, the review of the files and the orientation of where they are going to be paid, what is the means of payment, if it is a magnetic card or electronic payroll, all this by the organs of performance.
They also have a part of budget analysis, which reports on the budget to be able to retire potential pensioners.
