Mayabeque, Cuba: The local agricultural innovation project implements strategies to expand the diversity of foods in Batabanó, encouraging the producer to plant grains.

The peasants received varieties of soybeans to venture into planting the crop, taking into account the weather conditions.

The coordinator of the Local Agricultural Innovation Program (PIAL) in the territory, Roberto Martínez, stressed that this opportunity constitutes a valuable offer, due to the decrease in grain production and the need to increase yields.

In search of strategies to obtain superior results, the agricultural sector does not stop, advised by the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA).

Producer Jorge Hermes Bárcenas stands out for his contributions, since he has a soybean seed bank, a mini-oil plant and makes feed with this grain for farmyard animals.
