Cuba Confirms 33 New Positive Cases for Covid-19

Havana: At midnight yesterday, August 31, a thousand 206 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 28 under surveillance, 605 suspected and 573 confirmed, the official website of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health publishes.

For COVID-19 4,958 samples were studied, resulting in 33 positive samples. The country accumulates 403,181 samples carried out and 4,065 positive.

The 33 diagnosed cases are Cuban, of which 27 were contacts of confirmed cases, and 6 without a specified source of infection. 84.8% (28) were asymptomatic, accumulating 2,372, representing 58.4% of those confirmed to date.

Of the 33 confirmed cases, 18 are male and 15 are female.

Havana (23 cases)

? Boyeros 6, Habana Vieja 4, La Lisa 3, Regla, Habana del Este and Arroyo Naranjo 2 cases each, Marianao, Playa, Guanabacoa, Plaza de la Revolución 1 case each.

Matanzas (10 cases)

Of the 4,065 patients diagnosed with the disease, 573 (14.1%) remain confirmed, 548, 95.6% with stable clinical evolution. 95 deaths are reported (one of the day), two evacuated, 17 discharges of the day, 3 thousand 395 recovered patients accumulate (84%). Six patients in critical condition and 19 patients in serious condition are reported.

Until August 31, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 25 million 252 thousand 030 (+ 222 thousand 622) and 846 thousand 848 deaths (+ 3 thousand 690) for a lethality of 3.35 % (-0.01).

In the region of the Americas, 13 million 396 thousand 652 confirmed cases (+ 89 thousand 11) are reported, 53.05% of the total cases reported in the world, with 467 thousand 767 deaths (+ thousand 761) for a fatality of 3, 49% (-0.01).
