Collective Exposition Opened at Provincial Center for Visual Arts

Mayabeque, Cuba: The ALQUIMIA Collective Exhibition was inaugurated a few hours ago as part of the reopening of the ?Arístides Fernández? Provincial Center for Visual Arts, in Güines.

The union of 18 visual artists from this municipality shows the public a collection of pieces in different formats: sculptural and highlight for oil on canvas.

Participant in the exhibition and affiliated to the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), Heyder Luis Reyes Rosa expressed: ?the idea arises from the entry into the Art Gallery of new specialists and the restoration of the headquarters. We want to encourage the presence of artists from the old and new avant-garde, as well as increase the attendance of the different audiences at the exhibitions?.

The term ALQUIMIA is symbolic for those who present their works, Reyes Rosa said and added: ?it suggests a similarity with the doctrine of antiquity that sought to transform any metal into gold, through philosophizing stone. In this case, metaphorically, the artists are the metals and the gold obtained is the collective exhibition?.
