Havana: At midnight yesterday, January 10, 5,715 patients have been admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 1,948 suspects, 965 under surveillance and 2,802 confirmed, the official site of the Cuban Health Ministry publishes.
For COVID-19, 13,212 samples were studied, resulting in 431 positive samples. The country accumulates one million 605 thousand 819 samples carried out and 15 thousand 007 positive (0.93%).
Of the total number of cases (431): 372 were contacts of confirmed cases, 36 with a source of infection abroad and 23 without a specified source of infection.
Of the 431 cases of the day, 285 (66.1%) are linked to international travelers, accumulating 5,658, which represents 76.7% of the total cases diagnosed since November 15.
Of the 431 cases diagnosed, 238 were female and 193 male.
53.6% (231) of the 431 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 9,595, which represents 63.9% of those confirmed to date.
The 431 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years 44; from 20 to 39 years 155; from 40 to 59 years old 152; 60 and over 80.

Of the 15,007 patients diagnosed with the disease, 2 thousand 802 (18.6%) remain hospitalized, 2 thousand 778 with stable clinical evolution. 153 deaths are reported (two in the day), two evacuated, 28 returned to their countries, 159 discharges of the day, 12,022 recovered patients accumulate. 24 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, nine of them critical and 15 seriously ill.
Until January 10, 189 countries (=) with COVID-19 cases are reported, it amounts to 90 million 675 thousand 908 confirmed cases (+ 713 thousand 854) with 20 million 815 thousand 737 active cases and 1 million 942 thousand 604 deaths (+ 10 thousand 41) for a fatality of 2.14% (=).
In the region of the Americas, 40 million 104 thousand 529 confirmed cases (+ 383 thousand 560) are reported, 44.22% of the total cases reported in the world, with 10 million 758 thousand 571 active cases and 930 thousand 606 deaths (+ 5 thousand 213) for a lethality of 2.32% (=).
