US government officials on tour in Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay

Washington: The White House reported in a statement on its official website that the Principal Director for the Western Hemisphere, Juan González, and the Acting Undersecretary of the United States Department of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Julie Chung are making an official visit to Colombia, and then they will do it to Argentina and Uruguay.

In Bogotá, they will discuss economic recovery, security and rural development, the crisis of Venezuelan migrants and Colombia’s regional leadership on climate matters, the press release said.

The US government stated that in Argentina and Uruguay, they will discuss regional priorities, including addressing the challenges of the climate crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic and threats to democracy, human rights, and security in our hemisphere and worldwide.
