Mayabeque, Cuba: In the municipality of Batabanó, the vector control is intensified, despite being one of the territories of Mayabeque with the lowest focal rate.

Hygiene and epidemiology workers work hard to combat the spread of the vector.

According to the municipal supervisor of the anti-vector campaign, Alexander Flores, preventive work is essential to avoid the appearance of diseases such as dengue and Zika, which are transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

The campaign complies with its indicators and measures are intensified in the residential area to control deposits in homes, as well as the check of sanitary measures in state establishments.

Health hearings take place in Batabanó in the affected blocks and in work centers to guide the population as an alternative to reinforce preventive work.

Despite the arduous task in confronting Covid-19 in our country, we must not neglect the anti-vector campaign.
