Havana, Cuba: Friends from different continents and solidarity movements will star today in a new global caravan against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

As reported by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the initiative will include emigrants and associations of Cubans living in different regions, parliamentarians, academics, artists, as well as graduates in the Caribbean country.

Parks, streets and other public places will give space to activists, who in caravans of cars, bicycles and motorcycles, walks, sit-ins in front of North American embassies, and through social networks, will share images, statements and videos in rejection of politics .

In the United States, protesters will participate in more than 20 cities, such as Miami, New York, Washington, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco, Tampa, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Seattle and Indianapolis; while in Canada they will do so in Vancouver, Montreal, Winnipeg and other regions.

Those involved will also denounce the blockade in the Latin American and Caribbean region, from Mexico, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Belize, Panama, Ecuador, Uruguay and Argentina.

In Europe mobilizations are called in Brussels, Belgium, on the Atomium esplanade; in the squares of Cibeles (in Madrid) and Cataluña (Barcelona), both in Spain; walks in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow, and a bike ride from the Elephant and Castle crossing to Lambeth Bridge in the UK.

Actions will also take place in Russia, Italy, France, Serbia, Ireland, Angola, and in the Australian cities of Brisbane, Canberra and Perth.

Last March there were expressions of solidarity in a hundred cities in more than 60 countries against the US siege, which lasted for six decades and considered a violation of human rights.

The caravan originated in the similar initiative in Miami called Puentes de Amor, which has taken international force in support of the Cuban people who resist the blockade defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country?, ICAP said.

According to the protagonists, the actions will not end until the end of the blockade and protests are already announced for the month of June, when the draft resolution of Cuba against Washington politics.
