Mayabeque, Cuba: The genocidal blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, more than six decades ago, considerably slows the development of this Antillean Island.

Of the effects that it causes in the education sector, one of the conquests of the Cuban Revolution, the professor of History of the Municipal University Center of Güines, Master in Sciences Universo Díaz, explained that it affects all the citizens of the country and in all the spheres.

“In the case of education, it causes fuel restrictions, which significantly reduces the transportation possibilities for students and teachers,” he explained.

The pre-university level, due to the unconventional measures to prevent the supply of fuel to our country, suffers damages in the school organization of educational institutions. Therefore, subjects were limited; plans, study programs, and schedules were readjusted.

This genocidal policy affects teacher development and learning of specialties in Professional Technical Teaching.

?For higher education, specifically, the fundamental limitations are centered on the lack of access to technology and scientific development that we need to be up-to-date. In addition to the refusals to financial collaboration, payments for professional services to other countries and in the case of contracts and agreements with some universities, difficulties in obtaining hard cash from the banks that own it ?, Universo Díaz concluded.
