Havana, Cuba: Cuba confirmed at midnight this Sunday 932 new cases of Covid-19 and 11 deaths, reported this Monday at a press conference Dr. Francisco Durán García, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap ), Radio Habana Cuba reports.
21,768 patients were admitted, of them 3,499 suspects, 12,631 and 5,638 confirmed under surveillance.
Yesterday, 22,938 samples were processed in the country’s molecular biology laboratories, and as a result 932 infections to Covid-19 were confirmed.
There are 3,700,029 samples taken for the diagnosis of SARS-Cov-2 and 109,625 people diagnosed with the disease (2.96%).
Of the 11 deceased patients, 8 are from the province of Havana, 2 patients from Matanzas and one from the province of Camagüey.
Of the 932 new cases, 884 are autochthonous cases and 48 are imported. Meanwhile, 92.5% (862) were contact with confirmed cases, of the total of 103,718 (94.6%) and 5.2% with a source of infection abroad, 5,745 (5.2%) accumulate.
We are working to specify the source of infection in 22 patients (2.4%), 160 (0.1%) accumulate without being able to specify the source of infection.
11.4% of those diagnosed since the opening of the airports have been linked to international travelers.
Of the female sex 441 (47.3%), total 54 015 (49.3%), of the male sex 491 (52.7%), total 55 610 (50.7%).
46.5% (434) were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, accumulating 54,777 (49.9%).
By age group: under 20 years of age 109 cases and 18 or less 100 diagnosed patients, 791 active cases in pediatric ages.

Of the 109,625 patients diagnosed with the disease, 5,638 remain hospitalized, of them 5,527 with stable clinical evolution. There are 675 deaths (11 in the day), for a fatality of 0.6; two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, on the day there were 917 discharges, 103,256 recovered patients (94.1%) accumulated. 111 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 43 of them critically ill, and 68 seriously ill.
Until May 2, 190 countries and 30 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 153 million 452 thousand 498 (+ 813 thousand 912) with 18 million 826 thousand 599 active cases and 3 million 215 thousand 243 deaths (+ 13,479) for a lethality of 2.10.
In the region of the Americas, 63 million 461 thousand 557 confirmed cases (+ 238 thousand 183) are reported, 41.35% of the total cases reported in the world, with 9 million 143 thousand 202 active cases and 1 million 541 thousand 842 deaths (+ 6 thousand 438) for a fatality of 2.43.
